ContraPloy is a two player strategy board game.  It does not exist in physical form (yet); it is played through this web site.

First, read the Rules.  If you want a head start, you can also read the Tactics page.

Register yourself with this site.  Don't worry, it won't hurt you.  If you want to back out, you can return at any time and delete your registration.

Go to the Player List to find other players.  From there, you can send a player an email message by clicking on the Mail link next to their name.  Also check the Message Board to see if anyone has posted a general offer to play.  And check the Game Log to see who is actively playing.

The easiest way to start a game with another player is to return to the Player List and click on the Play link next to their name.  If you want to see how the game works before you embarrass yourself in front of someone else, you can create a game against yourself.

Once the game is created, click on the Game link next to the listed game to go to the actual game board.  The game board has instructions below on that page.

Note this is not a real time game.  You are expected to check this site on occasion to see if the other player has moved and, if so, to make a move.  There is an email notification feature that you can turn on to assist you; an email containing a link to the game will be sent to you when the other player moves.

When you return to this site, click on Play! to see the list of your games and to go back to a game.
